Raymond Cruz Costa Rica Expert - Cara Ocean View

As mentioned in my earlier blog post, I am currently in Costa Rica enjoying myself before I return to Georgia.  However, the longer I am in CR the longer I feel like extanding my vacation. After visiting LaFortuna, it was time to expand my wings and see more of this beautiful country. Lucky for me, my Friend Raymond Cruz the Costa Rica expert volunteered to show me one of the best sites in the country.

I had no idea what was in store for me but he told me that I would get to see a million dollar view.  We left LaFortuna a few days after new years and headed for the mountains.  After a short ride, we started going up the mountain and he told me that we were going to visit the Carara National Park.

For those who do not know, Carara National Park is situated between Amazonian and Mesoamerican habitats, placing it within a transition zone that harbors a unique blend of flora and fauna. It is one of the most popular parks in Costa Rica because it is the closest one to San Jose.

We spend half of the day visiting the park and I was amazed by how many exotic birds we got to see.

Raymond Shows me Carara Mountain Resort Community

During the tour, I told him that the people that live in this area must be the luckiest people in the world.  This is when Raymond told me its time to take a Cruz to the Carara Mountain Resort Community so I can see what its like to live in the area.

In just a few minutes, he took me to this beautiful home in a private community where his friend Doug lives at.  Wow, some people have all of the luck in the world.

We enjoyed a nice dinner on his patio where I got to see a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean

Is it time to buy Real Estate in Costa Rica?

After the visit with Ray, I am asking myself whether its time to invest in Costa Rica Real Estate and follow my dreams.  However, reality quickly sets in as I know that it is not yet time to pursue this as I have a lot of places I want to visit before I decide to settle down in one country.

My Trip to La Fortuna, Costa Rica

La Fortuna, otherwise called La Fortuna de San Carlos, is without a doubt one of Costa Rica's most discussed goals. Travel essayists love to cover it, visit administrators gloat about it, and a brisk Google search will uncover a huge number of articles on this community alone.

Be that as it may, does La Fortuna satisfy everyone's expectations? The appropriate response: yes it does to say the very least. In this post, we share our insider tips to this interesting town and disclose to you why following the traveler trail to La Fortuna is as yet justified, despite all the trouble.

La Fortuna, Costa Rica

La Fortuna is situated in the Northern Highlands of Costa Rica, about 2.5-3 hours from San Jose's universal air terminal and 2.5 hours from Liberia's worldwide air terminal. The town is focused on a delightful park with vivid nurseries and a huge church. The principle star, Arenal Volcano, gives the scenery and can been seen from pretty much every vantage point. On the boulevards encompassing the focal park lie numerous cafés, inns, visit administrators, and shops, with additionally holding up out and about prompting the well of lava and Lake Arenal.

A portion of the manuals may make them picture an overdeveloped sham, however dread not, the town stays enchanting and still has a neighborhood feel. Among the trinket shops and bistros taking into account the numerous guests, you'll discover Ticos in their day by day life, purchasing supplies for their homestead, getting something to eat, or simply unwinding on a recreation center seat.

According to Carara Costa Rica Real Estate, One reason for La Fortuna's fame is the plenty of exercises. You can do practically the entirety of the quintessential Costa Rica experience visits out of La Fortuna. You can investigate the rainforest covering on a hanging span, fly through the sky on a zip line, rappel down cascades, and sprinkle down beating a stream on a whitewater pontoon. With the entirety of the decisions, it tends to be difficult to tell where to begin.

Meeting New People

Our trip was very fun and we met people we would never meet back in the state.  One interesting person was Raymond Cruz in Costa Rica who runs a payperhead sportsbook as a living.

2018 College Football Bowl Previews

Everyone in Georgia loves their football so I thought it was time to give you my opinion on this year's college bowls.  In addition, in my College Football Bowl Betting Preview, we’ll pick up where we left off – starting with a full slate of College Football action the day after Christmas. If you missed it, you can read Part One of our College Bowl Previews.

Saturday, December 26th sees six games scheduled and a full day of action beginning with an early start time of 11:00am ET. That game features Connecticut vs. Marshall in the St. Petersburg Bowl, and it’s expected to be the lowest-scoring game of the day. The online sportsbooks list 9-3 Marshall as a four-point favorite against the 6-6 Huskies, with a 44-point total.

All five of the other games have totals of 55.5 or more points. Both teams are allowing less than 20 ppg defensively, and UConn has gone Under the total in all seven games when listed as an underdog. While there are no ranked teams in action on the full Saturday slate, there are eight teams from Power 5 Conferences in action.

The featured (and latest) game is the Foster’s Farm Bowl, which has the Big Ten’s Nebraska against the Pac 12’s UCLA. The Cornhuskers have not had a good year and were a bowl exemption after a 5-7 record in the regular season – however they do have a signature win against Michigan State on their resume. UCLA is a 6.5-point favorite and will have a sizeable home field edge.  This is because according to Price Per Player they will be playing this game in their home state of California.

There are no CFB Bowl games on Sunday with the NFL taking center stage, but Bowl Season resumes on Monday, December 28th with a pair of afternoon matchups. Pittsburgh will face #21 Navy in Annapolis, MD in the Military Bowl – a short layoff for the Midshipmen who beat Army 21-17 last weekend. Navy’s only two losses this season came against good offenses in Notre Dame and Houston, and laying the small 3.5-point number looks attractive. Minnesota is a 5.5-point favorite against the MAC’s Central Michigan in the second game, kicking off at 5:00 ET. Golden Gophers are another 5-7 team that received a Bowl exemption, and come in riding a current 4-1 ATS winning streak. According to pay per head bookies, there are four games on Tuesday, December 29th.  furthermore, it includes the first matchup of ranked teams. #17 Baylor is listed as a three-point favorite against #10 North Carolina in the Citrus Bowl.

The online sportsbooks have yet to post an over/under, but it is expected to be very high with the Bears scoring 48 points per game and UNC putting up 41 ppg. Both teams enter this matchup off a straight up loss, with UNC falling against #1 Clemson in the ACC Championship Game and Baylor getting upset by Texas as a big 21-point home favorite. The other big matchup on Tuesday is the Texas Bowl, where Texas Tech will face #20 LSU.

The Tigers ended a three-game losing streak with a win against Texas A&M in the regular season finale, while Texas Tech finished the season with back-to-back wins against Kansas State and Texas. Red Raiders beat Arkansas on the road in their only matchup against the SEC this season, but LSU is listed as a seven-point favorite and should have a great day running against a Texas Tech defense that is giving up a full six yards per rush attempt defensively. We’ll return next week with Part Three of our CFB Bowl Betting Previews.

Sportsbook Betting News: NBA Leading the Charge

While sports betting in the United State continues to rise, the major sports leagues have been opposed to the legalization of wagering on sports. That is until NBA Commissioner Adam Silver broke from the crowd and stated his endorsement for legalization as long as it was regulated.

Silver isn’t just talking – he’s doing. Earlier this month, the NBA officially withdrew their opposition  to a Canadian bill that would allow wagering on single games (currently you can make 3+ game parlays as part of their lottery system). So far, the other major sports have stood pat on their stance of opposition, however, many of these same leagues that benefit from gambling on their sport are embracing related gambling activities (such as fantasy leagues) and could be next in shelving their opposition.

Public support for legalized sports betting has grown, and perhaps more importantly the lack of legality hasn’t stopped American players from betting. According to the Washington Post, four billion dollars is wagered legally per year, but 20 to 95 times that amount is wagered through bookie pay per head or through local bookmakers.

Proponents of legalized sports betting in the United States are hopeful that the NBA coming out in favor of regulated sports betting will pave the way for other notable deterrents to change their tune and embrace what is already happening.
Sportsbook betting ((http://www.1vice.ag)) continues to be the preferred method to wager on sports as it offers signup bonuses, internet accessibility, and up-to-the-minute lines and prop wagers.
The other major sports leagues should embrace Silver’s stance and stop trying to prevent the inevitable.

Helping my Friend Find a Home in Santa Ana Costa Rica

I am currently in Costa Rica for a short vacation to visit one of my friends in Costa Rica.  Since my friend knows that I am great at fixing and renovating homes, he asked me to come down for a bit of R&R and to check out some of the house he is considering buying in Santa Ana Costa Rica.

Jack has been living in Costa Rica for about 7 years now and he told me that it was time that he bought a house.  His favorite location is in Santa Ana because lots of his friends who work in online sports betting live in that area.

So he took me to his favorite Santa Ana Costa Rica real estate office where we met his realtor.  A very nice lady called, Gabriela who has helped him in the past find houses for rent.

She seemed very reliable and she showed us three fixer uppers in the Santa Ana area to look at.  All I can say is that we have different ideas of what a fixer upper is.

Let's just say that all three houses were almost brand new and that what they really needed was some finished work.

For example, the first home we went to look great from the inside but the interior was half finish as it had wiring sticking out of the walls some of the rooms didn't even have finished floors.

It looked like the builder started the house, ran out of money and just put it up for sale.

The other two houses were pretty much in the same situation.

In the end, my friend chose to not purchase any of these fixer uppers as he wanted a fixer upper where he could move in immediately and not have to wait for electricity!

Me, I'm just having fun in Costa Rica and tomorrow, I'm off to Manuel Antonio with Jack for some well deserved beach time.

To all my peeps in ATL, I hope you enjoy your winter weather!!!

Nothing Lasts Forever, Including the Sidings to Your Home

I recently received an email from a good friend of mine where he was asking me about the sidings of my home in Atlanta, Georgia.  I was a bit confused at first since I am certainly not a contractor but I kept on reading just to see what that was about.

He was noticing problems with the siding on his home. While he had some specific questions regarding siding in Atlanta, I thought it would be worthwhile to discuss siding replacement in general. Weather conditions and the types of siding used vary greatly from one part of the country to another, but there are general rules that pretty much apply anywhere.

Nothing lasts forever, and the siding on your home is no exception. Broken clapboards or shakes can rot or break and your can no longer do what it is meant to do. Wear is not limited to clapboards or shakes, as time and the elements will take their toll on any type of siding. When siding is damaged it lets dirt, air, insects, and water into your home. Further decay and damage will also occur in the wood around it.  When the damage is limited to a few small locations, repair may be the best option, at least in the short run. It is possible to repair damaged areas or individual shingles and delay or prevent further deterioration before the situations gets out of hand.
The first thing to do is take a good look at the siding on your home. If you see bad spots, it’s best to make repairs as soon as possible. If the damage is minor, the damaged board or shake is the only part that must be replaced, and the job goes fairly quickly. In the case of clapboards, the old board should be replaced with a new one of the same size and shape. This is a simple process for a trained professional, and cost will be minimal.  If you have damaged shakes or shingles, replacement is done similar to the way clapboards are replaced. The most difficult part of this operation is matching the replacement with the current shakes/shingles. Different areas of your home’s exterior get different amounts of sun and other weathering, and the colors and texture may be difficult to match. If the damaged area is in a highly visible area, you will not want the new shake or shingle to look significantly different from those that surround it.  Replacing shingles or clapboards as they become damaged will keep your siding from deteriorating quickly and better protect your home from the elements. There are times when the damage is sufficiently extensive that replacement is the best option. There are many factors to consider when deciding to whether to do selective repair done or to have the siding replaced entirely. Naturally, initial cost is a major consideration. But the cheapest short-term option may end up costing considerably more over the long run. A consultation with a trusted professional is highly recommended, unless you want to do a great deal of research and calculations on your own.  Whether you decide to employ a contractor or feel capable of doing the job yourself, it’s best to catch the problems early before further deterioration occurs.
